For many years - in our books, in Midnight Messenger, and in the pages of this Alert newsletter - we have drawn attention to the fact that what passes for "the government" in Washington, D.C. is totally phony. They have thrown away the original rule book, and are now marching to the beat of different, alien drummer. What Americans see on the surface (and who, nowadays, is interested in anything that is not superficial?) is a cruel charade that keeps most blinded to grim reality. The real Washington is ruled by an "invisible government," the main objective of which is to destroy our national sovereignty and drag us into a new world order.
For years we have repeatedly stated that the media, whose job is supposedly to keep the public informed about important events and trends, has also been taken over by these same subversive forces. Many, undoubtedly, thought that our assessment of the situation was at least questionable if not altogether "off the wall and out to lunch." That's understandable. It's basically the same reaction as we had when our attention was first drawn to this unfortunate truth. For anyone of any consequence on the Washington scene to publicly acknowledge and speak out about the way things really are means the "kiss of death" to their careers. That is a sad reality.
Recently I discovered an interview given by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, the former Washington bureau chief of London's Daily Telegraph. As such, he was a front row seat observer of what actually goes on in D.C. - the infamous "District of Corruption." It was insightful, and confirmed what we have been stating all along: "I really can't accept that America has a functioning two-party system... I really think it's a one-party establishment... this is a single party state with two faces." Evans-Pritchard compared America's alleged "two-party system" to the Greens and the Blues of the Byzantine era of the Roman Empire: "Who can figure out which is which and who stands for what? They're just two factions bidding for power. They take each other's clothes, masquerade under each other's ideology... I don't see any coherent difference between the Democrats and the Republicans except on certain social issues.
"What happens with the press is that they get subsumed into this club. They get invited to barbecues on Saturday afternoon with the director of the FBI - and by then they're
compromised. Nobody has to buy them off... They come to absorb the outlook of the political establishment and they lose their independent, contrarian judgment. It happens by osmosis - they just assimilate their perspectives and points of view. You become friends with all these people and you become to think like them."
Do reporters covering Washington, DC encounter interference? "Everybody does. Nobody even has to say anything for you to be aware of it. You just know where the boundaries are - and the boundaries move so you have to keep thinking where they might be. You just know. You know the way people behave and the way people talk to you in the morning... I think these constraints are very, very serious... You have the illusion of this huge diversified press in America, but it's actually a very, very steep pyramid. The major national news stories are controlled by a tiny group of people... [I]t's only six or seven people... Essentially, the agenda is set by this very small group."
His statement that "the boundaries change" reminds this writer of wise king Solomon's admonition to "attend to wisdom and bow down our ears to understanding, so that we may regard discretion, and that our lips may keep knowledge" (Prov. 5:1 -2). In verse 3 he warns against falling for the wiles of the "strange woman" (identified in your Bible as the great whore of Babylon - Revelation 17) whose "ways are movable, so thou canst not know them," (Prov. 5:6). This Satanically-inspired religious/political system has controlled the nations of the world since the Tower of Babel (Genesis 10-11). That's why we see so much political and religious confusion (or babble) all around us. "God is not the author of confusion" (/ Corinthians 14:33).
Solomon advises us to take action - to "incline (our) ear unto wisdom and apply (our) heart to understanding.... if we cry after knowledge and lift (our) voices for understanding; if (we) seek her as silver, and seek for her as hid treasure; then shall (we) understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2:1-3 paraphrased).
BRAINWASHED AND NEUTRALIZED
As a result of having been "worked over" by change agents in the tax-payer-funded national "education" (indoctrination) system, most emerge from these institutions with a fewmillion brain cells short of a full load. Having been brainwashed, desensitized, and neutralized, most are unable to cope with the dark Orwellian world in which they live. They are the unwitting victims of methods of control discovered by Russian scientist Ivan Pavlov (1849-1936). In the course of experiments involving dogs, he found that their behavior (reactions) could be controlled when he manipulated the stimuli occurring before feeding them (i.e. the presentation of food). He found for example that, by getting dogs to associate the ringing of a bell, or a person wearing a white uniform, with the availability of food, he could get the dogs to salivate just by ringing a bell or wearing a white uniform when no food was available. In the early 1900s, he thereby established the basic laws for the establishment of what he called "conditioned reflexes." Pavlov later developed the methods used in the process of "systematic desensitization." This enables change agents in schools, social groups, political groups, and even churches to manipulate and regulate the behavior of those under their direction. Pavlov was the originator of what is today known as "behavior modification." Pavlov was highly regarded by Lenin, the mastermind behind the Communist Revolution in Russia in 1917. His methods were widely used to bring the Russian population under control and keep the people submissive. Pavlov's method of "conditioned reflexes" was also a major theme in Aldous Huxley's depressing novel, Brave New World.
"HUMAN RESOURCES" SALIVATE ON CUE
In today's America, the elite treat people like Pavlov's dog. They call them "human resources." Modern society is stimulated, manipulated, and worked-over 24/7. Like Pavlov's dog, hundreds of millions of Americans have been systematically trained to "salivate" on cue when induced/seduced by the "dream" worlds conjured up by ad men for politicians, corporations, entertainment moguls, and other mind manipulators. These con men are paid enormous sums of money to sit around all day thinking up new, innovative ways of manipulating people by tapping into and taking advantage of their human weaknesses. These creatures are fully aware that people are naturally motivated and stimulated by the primary weaknesses of human nature -jealousy, vanity, lust and greed. They play on these traits -such as "dreams" of ill-defined success, fame, wealth, stardom, etc. - like a maestro plays a violin. Through manipulation, these masters of spin can make people's lives light up and have them figuratively "salivate" with hope and great anticipation of being "somebody" or "accomplishing something" in their miserable lives.
Yearly, untold millions take the bait, pay out vast amounts of hard-earned money, and make their bid for fame and fortune - only to find they have been chasing rainbows which have no substance. Their dreams are shattered byreality, and they come crashing back down to earth with a sickening thud. Their efforts to make their "dreams" come true only end up in frustration and disillusionment. In the word of the Rolling Stones song, they just "can't get no satisfaction." Their "dreams" turned out to be illusions -fantasies that ended up in a barren wilderness. The suckers were promised a "goldmine," but ended up getting the shaft while the manipulative suckees got the gold!
Can any of us honestly say we have never indulged in such vain fantasies, or been a victim of such tactics? Hardly! Hopefully with the passage of time, we can all leam to think, analyze, define terms, recognize traps, and learn to differentiate between reality and hype. Object lesson? Just as brainwashing takes time and money, so also does deprogramming our minds to the point at which we will no longer respond to artificial stimulation due to "conditioned reflexes." One good starting point in the "re-programming" process might to be read through the book of Proverbs on a regular basis. Solomon's gems of wisdom can help us to "know wisdom and understanding." Through wisdom, instruction, and understanding, they can "give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion" (Proverbs 1:1-4).
MORTGAGE CRISIS
A few days ago we received a letter asking for our observations on America's crumbling, real estate, mortgage markets. Long-time readers of Midnight Messenger will recognize that for years we have carried articles warning about the consequences of numerous policy decisions made in - and enforced by - Washington. Also various economic policies being followed by American corporations, as well as millions of regular individuals. We pointed out that they could only end in disaster for the American people as a whole. Those observations were firmly based on biblical principles and some 6,000 years of human history. Since the days of FDR the crew in charge of America's Ship of State has thrown away the nation's rule books and compasses -the Bible and the Constitution - and embarked on a course that, unrecognized by most, can only end in a shipwreck to end all shipwrecks. For the last 74 years (1933-2007) the personnel in the crew have changed regularly, but the course plotted and followed has remained constant.
What we have seen so far, result-wise, is just the tip of the iceberg. In recent years America's economic Titanic has been hitting a series of icebergs. The captain and crew (in this case, presidents and Congress) have consistently and deliberately ignored the signs of impending disaster. While most of the 300 million passengers on board are asleep or blinded by their personal ill-fated "dreams"of a luxurious voyage into financial paradise, those in charge have drowned out strenuous cries of alarm from other passengers. They have, in effect, shouted, "Damn the icebergs. Ignorethe warnings. Full speed ahead. Posterity be damned."
Like the foundations of so many things in America' s fantasy dream world, our economic system is built on shifting sand under a foundation of rotting beams. In the 1960s, following the assassination of President Kennedy, America - under the Johnson administration and with the support of a Congress controlled by the Democrats - finally abandoned and cut all ties with the laws and principles of a sound money system proven from the dawn of time, and incorporated in our Constitution. The Constitutional mandated that "No state ... shall make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts" (Article I, Section 10). This section of our nation's "Supreme Law of the Land" was solidly based in biblical law (Genesis 23:9,10,15,16; 37:28; Acts 3:6).
Human nature being what it is ("Deceitful above all things and desperately wicked," Jeremiah 17:9), a money system based on any thing other than biblical standards (precious metals) can't possibly succeed. Historically, attempts to the contrary were attempted by such powers as Babylon and Rome but each in its turn collapsed in ignominy. As the 1996 Annual Report of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Virginia, stated: "When the [privately-owned] Federal Reserve was established in 1913, inflation was not the problem it became... The nation was on the gold standard and the purchasing power of money in 1913 was about what it had been 30 years earlier or, for that matter, 100 years before. The gold standard sharply restricted inflation by requiring that money created by the U.S. Treasury be backed by gold." [The gold standard was abandoned by the Socialistic Roosevelt administration in 1933. Americans could no longer redeem their paper "dollars' for "lawful (Constitutional) money"].
In 1962 Alan Greenspan, wrote: "The abandonment of the gold standard [1933] made it possible ... to use the banking system as a means to an unlimited expansion of credit. They have created paper reserves in the form of government bonds which ... the banks accept in place of tangible assets and treat as if they were an actual deposit... The holder of the government bond or bank deposit created by paper reserves believes [he has faith!] that he has a valid claim on a real asset. But the fact is that there are now [1962] more claims outstanding than real assets. "The law of supply is not to be conned... In the absence of gold, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation. There is no safe store of value... This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirade against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for 'the hidden confiscation of wealth.'"
LEGAL LOOTERS
Now read the powerful words of Ayn Rand, an Alan Greenspan mentor and one of the most popular writers of the last century: "Whenever destroyers appear among men, they start by destroying gold money, for it is man's protection and the base of a moral existence. Destroyersseize gold and leave to its owners a counterfeit pile of paper. This kills all objective standards and delivers men into the arbitrary power of an arbitrary setter of values. Gold is an objective value, and an equivalent of wealth produced. Paper money is mortgage on wealth that does not exist, backed by guns aimed at those who are expected to produce. Paper money is a check drawn by legal looters upon an account that is not theirs: upon the virtue of the victims.
"Watch for the day when it bounces marked 'account overdrawn.' When you have made evil the means of survival, do not expect men to remain good. Do not expect them to remain moral and become fodder for the immoral. Do not expect them to produce when production is punished and looting rewarded. Do not ask who is destroying the world. You are" (John Galp's speech in Atlas Shrugged, 1957).
Over the last four decades America has experienced the results predicted. As a result of using "funny money" (fiat currency unbacked by silver and gold) we have experienced an explosion of inflation. Under the mistaken belief that "the price of houses can't go anywhere but up," millions of unwary individuals have been lured by a multitude of unscrupulous realtors (who are only interested in fees and commissions) to purchase houses they couldn't afford. Many banks have cooperated in this deception (see Midnight Messenger, Issue 134), and now the whole intricately-woven mass of deception is finally coming apart. Virtually every segment of the economy is based on deception, hot air, and "wealth that does not exist". Meanwhile, the Bush administration and Congress continue to mishandle our national affairs with reckless abandon. No attention is being paid to the ultimate consequences of their actions. They export millions of jobs, while importing millions of unskilled illegal aliens (giving them multiple billions of dollars in welfare and other free gifts — see Midnight Messenger #135). As they are also shackling productive Americans with ever-increasing regulations and taxes, it is a forgone conclusion that the whole depraved system will coming crashing down. It's not a matter of if. It's only a matter of when.
Don't squander your time with irrelevancies they have no substance. "Prove all things, hold fast that which is good" (/ Thes. 5:21). Spiritually speaking, no "other foundation can any man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (7 Cor. 3:11). He is "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:16).
Truth is Truth. Facts are facts. If we dare build on that foundation with "spiritual" wood, hay, and stubble instead of real spiritual "gold, silver, and precious stones" our efforts will be in vain (/ Cor. 3:11-15).

Like fish instinctively responding to an artificial "lure," these people were enticed into "biting into" behavior that, in their unawareness, seemed to offer the promise of excitement and fulfilment. As a result of lack of due diligence, they were "caught" in a trap from which they were unable to escape. Their actions proved deadly for their careers.
